Some people discover their career later in life. For Eugénie Eckler, it started long before she ever earned her real estate licence. As a teenager, while many of her friends were spending weekends at the mall, Eugénie had a different hobby.
She attended open houses. For fun.
She was fascinated by homes, floor plans, landscaping, and interior design. She loved imagining the lives being lived inside those walls and dreamed about helping people find a place they could truly call home.
Years later, that childhood passion would become the foundation of a career she still loves today.
More than 17 years after getting her licence, Eugénie continues to help families throughout Oakville, Burlington, and the surrounding communities buy, sell, and lease homes—always with one goal in mind: making the experience feel less stressful and a whole lot more personal.

A Year That Changed Everything
The year was 2008.
For Eugénie, it wasn’t just the beginning of a new career—it was the beginning of an entirely new chapter.
She was getting married, moving from Toronto to Oakville, settling into a new home, and launching her real estate business.
As she puts it… “New man, new town, new house, new job!”
It was a year filled with excitement, change, and possibility.
Looking back, she realized she had found a profession that perfectly combined everything she loved: building relationships, helping people through important life transitions, and indulging her lifelong passion for homes and design.

More Than Buying and Selling Homes
Ask Eugénie’s clients what it’s like working with her, and you’ll hear something that has very little to do with contracts or negotiations.
Many say they felt like they had someone truly in their corner.
Someone who listened. Someone who cared. Someone who genuinely wanted the very best outcome for them.
Over time, those professional relationships often become personal ones.
Some clients have even told her it felt less like working with a Realtor and more like working with a trusted friend—or even a member of the family.

That isn’t something Eugénie takes lightly.
It’s exactly the kind of business she set out to build.
A Different Definition of Success
In an industry often driven by sales numbers and flashy marketing, Eugénie has chosen a different path.
Her business has grown almost entirely through referrals and repeat clients.
She believes every interaction matters.
Whether she’s helping a first-time buyer purchase a condo, a growing family to sell their starter home and up-sizing into a larger home, assisting someone with a rental, or helping empty nesters right-size, her approach stays the same. Listen first. Educate. Communicate. Never pressure.

“There is no one-size-fits-all in real estate,” she says.
Every client’s timeline, budget, goals, and circumstances are unique, so every experience should be too.
It’s a philosophy that has served her well throughout her career.
Standing Out by Staying True
Like many independent business owners, Eugénie has faced the challenge of competing against large real estate teams with significant advertising budgets.
As a solo Realtor, getting noticed can require a little more creativity.
But rather than trying to compete on volume, she chose to compete on connection.
She believes personalized service is one of her greatest strengths.
By staying approachable, responsive, and genuinely invested in every client, she’s created a business built on trust rather than transactions.
And that’s something no marketing budget can buy.
Home Is More Than a House
One of the things that makes Eugénie unique is that her passion doesn’t end once the keys change hands.
She genuinely loves helping families fall in love with the communities they call home.
Over the years, she found herself constantly researching parks, local events, family activities, hidden gems, and neighbourhood favourites to share with clients who were settling into Halton.
Eventually, that passion grew into something much bigger.
She created Activity & Outing Ideas for Halton Kids, an online community where local families discover events, activities, and places to explore together.
It’s become one of her favourite ways to give back and stay connected—even with people who aren’t currently buying or selling a home.
A Storyteller at Heart
Many people are surprised to learn that Eugénie holds a degree in Radio and Television Arts.
In hindsight, she says, it makes perfect sense. She’s always loved storytelling.
Today, that creativity comes to life through videos highlighting homes, sharing real estate advice, promoting local businesses, and celebrating the communities she serves.
She also has one very lovable weakness. Golden Retrievers. If there’s one nearby, there’s a very good chance she’ll stop to say hello.
In fact, dogs played a pretty important role in her own love story.
She met her husband at a dog park in Toronto—she was there with her Golden Retriever, while he was walking his German Pinscher.

Some stories really do begin with a wagging tail.
What Keeps Her Going
Awards and recognition are certainly appreciated, but they aren’t what motivates Eugénie.
The moments she treasures most happen long after the paperwork is signed.
A first-time buyer returning years later for their next home. Parents introducing her to their adult children. Clients recommending siblings, coworkers, neighbours, and lifelong friends. Those referrals represent something far more meaningful than another transaction. They represent trust.
And for Eugénie, that’s the greatest compliment of all.
