About The MAWB
Established Jan 8, 2018, the Mississauga & Area Women in Business (MAWB) is the fastest-growing, most dynamic networking group for women based out of Mississauga. The members of MAWB, also known as MAWBsters, are local women, from MIssissauga and the surrounding communities, who come together to support each other’s businesses, offer advice and encouragement, and foster both business relationships and real friendships.
With organized activities, both in-person and virtual, the members get to know each other on a personal level first, rather than just as a potential client pool. Aggressive sales tactics are actually dissuaded, but Theme Days exist on the Facebook Group Page to promote your business. The Facebook Group boasts an incredibly active and engaged community, with an over 75% participation rate from group members.
Its current incarnation was established by Christine Hull at the beginning of 2018. The group has since experienced exponential growth and morphed into a dynamic group of active, engaged women from all walks of life, in all types of businesses. Whether you are part of an MLM as a “side hustle” to your day job or to supplement family income, a business professional, or an employee of a larger company looking to expand your network, there is a place for you in the MAWB!

I’ve been married for 23 years and am the mother of two amazing children (daughter,14 and son, 12) who are my absolute reason for everything I do. We’ve recently welcomed the sweetest rescue dog into our family as well. I spend a lot of time volunteering in my children’s schools, am a Girl Guide leader and help with their hockey and baseball teams. I love to introduce them to new experiences and offer as many advantages as possible. I’m learning and living a wonderful life doing it all alongside them. I’ve had physical challenges due to a medical error but am thrilled to be able to do the work I do with Mary Kay and the MAWB and show my kids that resilience and perseverance are strong traits that will get you through almost anything.

Owner, Wellness with Jen Hook
My passion is educating women and providing them with natural tools to help them (and their families) live their best life possible. My main tools are doTERRA essential oils which can help with physical and emotional issues and can be used proactively as well. I believe that making small changes can lead to massive results over time. Ask me for a sample so that you can see(and feel) the impact they can make on your life.
I am a mother to my two miracle children who are 5 and 7- the best, most challenging and rewarding job I have! I have been married to my best friend for 14 years (together for 22). After being severely ill a few years ago, I started on my natural journey. Everything happens for a reason. I love to spend time with those I love, cook, bake, travel, garden, do yoga, be active, be silly, sing (although not great at it) and dance. My next goal is to learn the guitar in the new year!
Content Writer, Blogger, Editor
I am a content writer and editor. I am not a creative writer, I write for content and clarity of message. I make sure the message you are sending is actually the message you want to send. I write marketing materials, website content, and I ghostwrite blogs and articles for busy entrepreneurs who have information they want to share but just don’t have the time to write for themselves. I provide two types of editing services: Copy Editing for grammar, punctuation, etc., and Developmental Editing, which takes an idea you have in your head, for a book or seminar, for instance, and helps you expand it and flesh it out into a fully-formed, workable project.
Xanthe LeBlanc—Let me put words in your mouth.
I am a middle-aged mom of two young men, married to my wonderful husband for many, many years. I’m originally from Montreal, but as young marrieds my husband and I were presented with the opportunity to move to New York and why would we say no to that? In New York, I had the incredible good fortune to volunteer at the Guggenheim Museum in the membership department, and for Literacy Volunteers of NYC where I worked with illiterate adults to help them develop a familiarity with written language and numbers. I also was thrilled to work in the fast-paced world of NYC advertising at several major agencies. I learned the ins and outs of client management, production, and eventually settled in as a Senior Copy Editor.
As young parents, opportunity once again presented itself and we relocated to the London, England area. In England I was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom but was involved as a volunteer with The American Woman’s Club Overseas, organizing several activities and writing content for the Club’s monthly newsletter.
When the time came to move back to Canada we chose to settle here in Mississauga. As a stay-at-home mom, I considered it my job to be involved with our children’s educational experience and volunteered in the schools for 10 years, working on the Parent Council and managing several school lunch programs. In these capacities I handled the written communications to the school population, which was very diverse, so it was essential our messages were delivered in a clear and concise manner.
I have taken all of this writing experience and channeled it into my business. I love to write. I love taking the germ of an idea and developing it. At the urging of a friend I created a food blog, which allows me to pair my love of writing with my other passion, cooking (and eating!). I use the X-Rated Food blog to share both my passions with my small corner of the world.

Harnessing the power of Neuro-Science and Neuro-Activation Wearable Neurotech offers scientifically proven drug-free wellness and performance products that reduces pain, increases strength, endurance, increases stability, balance and enhances range of motion for faster reaction times changing the way we live, play and enjoy our lives making it the future of wellness, sports and rehab.
An active mom of two amazing boys I became an advocate for Voxxlife Wearable Neurotech in 2017 after witnessing the benefits of wearing the tech first hand helping family members with health issues where the mainstream health care system only offered options to ingest chemicals and / or modify their lifestyle to learn to live with the pain. I became fascinated with the neuro technology and have since spent the last two years studying and educating people on how positively impacting the neuro system and its neuro-pathways to the brain can be a safe solution for people of all ages and athletic abilities to enjoy an improved quality of life and achieve their true potential.

MAWB Holistic Hub Facilitator
Bach Flower Consults Online
With her background as an RN, Linsey Denham spent twenty-six years of her life telling people to “Breathe”, without thinking of it as meditation. She knew that guiding patients to focus on their breath lessened their fear, nausea, pain and frustration which helped them to feel calmer…which allowed them to rest…which promoted quicker healing.
Now, as part of her role as an Emotional Support Specialist, Linsey teaches mindful exercises, to both adults and children, which they can use in their daily lives to help them feel calmer and more able to cope with stressful situations
A woman of Scottish-heart and Canadian-soul, Linsey has lived in Mississauga for only two years. She is delighted to be a member of the MAWB and to have this opportunity to contribute to the emotional health of other MAWBsters through offering some short mindful exercises.
Linsey will introduce exercises that can be used every day…or as needed, to help you connect with the present moment. Only in the present moment can you breathe in and breathe out. Only in the present moment can you feel.
Using regular, mindful-intermissions throughout your day, you can connect with your breathing to tune into how you are feeling both physically and emotionally. Then, with that awareness, you can choose to either embrace or change how you feel.
“Spring is my favourite time of year. Everything is possible in a garden that has been covered with snow all winter. Mindfulness is like Spring for the mind. It helps you discover and discard the old programming, which has been covering up the new seedlings, to make room for beautiful new growth.”
